Guitarist, composer and arranger Maciek Grzywacz is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, as well as the Higher School of Music in Munich. After receiving his diploma from the Munich school, he was invited to join the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation, and performed in Germany as a classical guitarist under its aegis. Maciek Grzywacz currently lives in Sopot.

Maciek Grzywacz has three solo albums to his credit - "Things Never Done", which features renowned New York trumpeter Avashai Cohen, "Forces Within", with Canadian drummer Tyler Hornby and "Fourth Dimension" with alto sax player Maciej Obara.

He is also a co-founder of the group (0-58), whose first album "Do Dziesięciu" ("Up To Ten") was recorded in 2001 and received a Fryderyk award nomination in the Jazz Album of The Year category in 2002. Their second album, "Tryby" ("Cogs") was released in 2003, and included original compositions by Maciej Grzywacz to lyrics by Krystyna Stańko. "Tryby" was also nominated for a Fryderyk award, in the same category. In addition to numerous concert and festival appearances in Poland, (0-58) toured several other countries in Europe, including Germany, Russia, Sweden and Romania.

Maciej Grzywacz also collaborates with various other groups, as well as being an in-demand session musician. In 2001, along with bassist Olo Walicki and clarinetist Emil Kowalski, he released a solo CD entitled "Offshore". That same year saw saxophonist Wojciech Staroniewicz inviting Maciek to join his group, Hand-made, followed by an invitation from bassist Piotr Lemańczyk in 2002 to participate in his project "Follow The Soul". In 2004 he played in drummer Jacek Kochan's AJEE, and in 2005 Piotr Lemańczyk's "Freep" was released- a CD on which the guitarist is heard with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jakob Dienesen and Jacek Kochan. Maciej Grzywacz has also taken part in recordings of theater and film music by Leszek Możdżer and Marek Kuczyński.

Maciek Grzywacz is a faculty member at Academy of Music in Gdansk.
